Robert Rozeske

Robert Rozeske is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Psychology at the University of Toronto Scarborough. His research focuses on the neural mechanisms underlying fear, anxiety, and defensive behaviors, with a particular emphasis on how traumatic experiences alter brain circuits related to memory and emotional flexibility.

• Education: BA from St. Olaf College, MA and PhD from the University of Colorado-Boulder under Dr. Steven F. Maier.
• Postdoctoral training at INSERM (Bordeaux, FR) with Dr. Cyril Herry and at McGill University with Dr. Mark Brandon.

His lab employs advanced techniques like fiber photometry, calcium imaging, and optogenetics to study neuronal circuit interactions in threat discrimination and behavioral adaptation. The research aims to inform novel therapeutics for mental illnesses such as PTSD.
