Keith Adamson is an Associate Professor and Director at the Factor-Inwentash Faculty of Social Work, University of Toronto. He joined in 2017 as an Assistant Professor, Teaching Stream, and was promoted to his current rank in 2023. With over 20 years of healthcare leadership experience, he has held roles at Mackenzie Health, Women’s College Hospital, and Holland Bloorview Kids Rehabilitation Hospital. His research focuses on interprofessional education, healthcare system transformation, and compassionate care. He currently serves as Deputy Director at the Centre for Teaching Support & Innovation (CTSI) and holds executive roles in organizations like the Ontario Association of Social Workers (OASW).
Dr. Adamson’s professional leadership includes past roles as Vice-President of Parkdale Community Health Centre, Co-Chair of Mississauga Halton LHIN’s Health Professionals Advisory Committee, and OASW President (2014–2018). His advocacy emphasizes social work’s role in healthcare regulation, public awareness campaigns, and professional development. He leads a nationally-funded project to integrate social workers into primary care systems across Canada, emphasizing collaboration with service users and families.
