Raquel Gutierrez is a Visiting Faculty member in the MFA in Creative Writing Program at Antioch University Los Angeles. They are also a critic, essayist, poet, performer, and educator with a focus on critical race theory, Queer and Latinx aesthetics, and performance art in the Americas.

Raquel has mentored at the Institute of American Indian Arts and the University of Nevada Reno's Interdisciplinary Arts Low Residency MFA program. They draw upon their background as a queer, trans-masculine non-binary Latinx person of color to address power dynamics in education and emphasize diverse perspectives in classroom dialogue.
