Emily Holland is an Adjunct Faculty member and a genderqueer lesbian writer, editor, and instructor. They hold a BA in Creative Writing and English from George Washington University (2016) and an MFA in Creative Writing from American University (2021). Their expertise spans creative writing (poetry, fiction, nonfiction), contemporary literature and film, and queer literature and film. Holland is the author of the chapbook Lineage (2019) and has been published in HAD, Shenandoah, Little Patuxent Review, and others. They received fellowships from the DC Commission on the Arts and Humanities.
Holland works at The Writer’s Center in Bethesda, MD, where they edit Poet Lore, America’s oldest poetry journal, and teach writing workshops. Their work emphasizes queer narratives and intersectional storytelling.
