Paul Boyd is the Director of the Conservatory of Music and Professor of Music (Piano) at Purchase College. Previously, he served as Chair of the Fine Arts Department and Director of Piano Studies at College of the Mainland (Houston), where he was also President of the Faculty Senate (2012–2014). As a grant writer, he has secured over $1,000,000 in funding.

Research Interests: Dr. Boyd specializes in piano performance, contemporary composition, and music pedagogy with an emphasis on cultural diversity. He advocates for underrepresented composers through interdisciplinary collaborations and youth outreach. His work integrates performance, education, and nonprofit leadership to expand access to classical and modern music.

Leadership and Grants: As Artistic/Executive Director of the Foundation for Modern Music (FMM), he transformed the organization—growing audiences from under 200 to 10,000+ annually and establishing the Avalon International Competition for Composers. He secured major grants supporting equity in music education and premiered 50+ contemporary works. Collaborations include the Greenbriar Consortium, Flamárt Latin Dance, and broadcasts on PBS/Pacifica.
