Nathan Hylden

Nathan Hylden is an Adjunct Associate Professor at Grad Art, where he contributes to the academic and creative development of students. His artistic practice is exhibited internationally, with recent solo gallery shows including So Doing (Art:Concept, Paris, 2018), Nearing On To Do (Midway Contemporary Art, Minneapolis, 2017), and König Gallery (Berlin, 2015–2016). His works are included in the permanent collections of major institutions such as the Whitney Museum of American Art, the Art Institute of Chicago, and the Stedelijk Museum Amsterdam.

Research Interests: Hylden’s practice spans conceptual visual art, abstract painting, and mixed-media installations. His work explores themes of abstraction, materiality, and the interplay between structured composition and spontaneous mark-making, as evidenced by exhibitions like Done And (Richard Telles Fine Art, 2009) and Still Now Again (Johann König, 2008).
