Jennifer Pastor

Jennifer Pastor is a Professor and Associate Dean of Graduate Studies at the Claire Trevor School of the Arts, University of California, Irvine. She holds an MFA from the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA), specializing in Sculpture.

Her research explores spatial metaphors, elastic structures, and the intersection of art, collaboration, and materiality. Pastor’s work investigates themes such as bodily boundaries, gesture, and the monumental, often through immersive research and complex social collaborations. Her sculptures and installations have been exhibited globally, including at the Whitney Museum of American Art, Museum of Contemporary Art (Los Angeles and Chicago), and the Venice Biennial.

Pastor’s work is featured in prominent collections such as the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA), New York, and the Stedelijk Museum, Amsterdam. Her exhibitions span major international venues since the 1990s, reflecting her contributions to contemporary art discourse.
