Jennifer Bornstein is a Professor at the Claire Trevor School of the Arts, University of California, Irvine. Her work spans diverse media rooted in photographic processes, blending material and conceptual explorations. She holds an MFA from the University of California, Los Angeles.
Her research focuses on photography’s intersections with contemporary art, materiality, and conceptual frameworks. Major exhibitions include solo shows at the Museum of Contemporary Art (Los Angeles), Stedelijk Museum (Amsterdam), and group exhibitions such as the 2014 Whitney Biennial. She has authored three monographs and five artist books, alongside essays in Frieze Magazine, the Getty Research Journal, and Mousse Magazine.
