Minsoo Sohn is a Korean-American pianist and faculty member at the New England Conservatory (NEC), joining in Fall 2023. He has held previous positions at Michigan State University and the Korean National University of Arts, establishing himself as a globally recognized artist through performances and recordings.
- Education: Artist Diploma (AD) from New England Conservatory, studying under Russell Sherman and Wha Kyung Byun.
Sohn’s research and artistic focus centers on piano performance, particularly interpretations of Baroque and Classical masterpieces. His acclaimed recordings of Bach’s Goldberg Variations (2011) and Beethoven’s complete piano sonatas (2020) highlight his expertise in technical precision and poetic expression. His work spans concert tours across North/South America, Europe, Israel, and Korea, with notable appearances at Seoul Arts Center and Tongyeong Concert Hall.
