Michelle Meeker

Michele Meeker is a Visiting Professor in the Animation Program at California College of the Arts (CCA). She has an extensive career in animation spanning major film projects including Shrek, Antz, Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers and Return of the King, and Geri’s Game. Her professional experience includes roles at Pixar, PDI, Weta Digital, and other studios. Meeker holds a BFA and MFA in character and experimental animation from the California Institute of the Arts (CalArts).

Teaching since 2006, she has instructed across the Bay Area, online via Animation Mentor, and internationally at institutions like Gobelins and The Animation Workshop in Denmark. Her pedagogical focus bridges industry expertise with academic training in animation disciplines.

Outside academia, she develops independent projects including a short film and series. Her work emphasizes creative storytelling through animation techniques and digital media innovation.
