Geefwee Boedoe

Geefwee Boedoe is an Assistant Professor in the Animation Program at California College of the Arts (CCA). He is a seasoned professional with over three decades of experience in animation, design, and illustration, working at studios like Walt Disney, Pixar, ILM, and DreamWorks. His career spans film, children’s literature, and independent projects. Boedoe holds a CalArts degree and has contributed to iconic films such as Monsters Inc., The Incredibles, and Finding Nemo. He is also a published author and illustrator, with works exhibited at the Museum of Modern Art (MOMA).

• Graduated from CalArts (1988)

Research Interests: Boedoe specializes in blending humor and innovative concepts into animation and design. His work emphasizes character and environmental storytelling, with a focus on pushing creative boundaries in visual narratives. He explores interdisciplinary approaches, integrating personal artistic projects with professional industry contributions.

Grants & Projects: Currently developing three short films (Let's Pollute, Peace is for Sissies, and Try Ignorance) as a trilogy. Past projects include illustrating Roald Dahl – Songs and Verse and Monsters University: Roaring Rivals.

Labs & Collaborations: Engages in freelance design, filmmaking, and illustration while mentoring students at CCA. His work reflects a commitment to merging personal artistic expression with industry-driven creativity.
