Amy A Lu

Amy A Lu is a Visiting Professor in the Animation Program at California College of the Arts (CCA). She holds a BFA with Honors and Distinction from the University of Victoria, an MFA from Sheridan College, and a post-graduate diploma in traditional and computer animation from Vancouver Film School. Her professional experience spans over 10 years in the VFX industry, working at top studios such as Weta Digital, Industrial Light & Magic, and Sony Imageworks. Notable film credits include Dawn of the Planet of the Apes, The Twilight Saga, and WarCraft, and she currently works at Tippett Studio on feature films and commercials.

Her creative work includes animation films and paintings exhibited in Canada and Toronto. She actively bridges industry expertise with academia, focusing on advancing animation techniques and fostering student passion for the field. Awards include an honorable mention at the River Twin Film Festival for her short film Good morning Sunshine.
