Sean Schur

Sean Schur is a Professor of Visual Effects at Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD) since 2024. Previously, he held senior roles across major VFX studios including Framestore, Method Studios, Industrial Light & Magic (ILM), and Sony Pictures Imageworks. His career spans over two decades in visual effects, with notable contributions to films like Star Wars, Avatar, and Madagascar, as well as TV series such as The Umbrella Academy and The Boys.

Education: B.F.A. in Character Animation from California Institute of the Arts.

Research interests focus on advancing VFX techniques in film and animation, blending technical expertise with creative storytelling. Awards include a Primetime Emmy nomination (2019) and recognition at LEAF/VEAF festivals (2001).

Professional affiliations include the Visual Effects Society (VES) and ACM.
