Mark Lasoff

Mark Lasoff is a Professor of Visual Effects at Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD) in Savannah, GA since 2023. He holds an M.S. in Computer Science from the University of Maryland and a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Delaware.

His career spans over three decades in visual effects, serving as VFX supervisor for major studios including The Walt Disney Studios, Warner Bros., and DreamWorks Animation. Notable projects include Titanic (1998 Academy Award winner), The Matrix sequels, and Prometheus. He has also led virtual production for Avatar and contributed to films like Disney's Dinosaur and Terminator 2 3-D.

Lasoff’s expertise includes nuke compositing, on-set VFX supervision, and digital effects development. He is a member of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences (AMPAS) since 1998.
