Brian Schindler

Brian Schindler is a Professor of Animation at the Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD), serving since 2007. He holds a B.A. in Theatre from UCLA. His career spans over three decades in animation and visual effects, blending academia with industry leadership.

Prior to SCAD, Schindler worked at prominent studios like Sony Pictures Imageworks (2001–2007), Warner Bros. Feature Animation (1994–2001), and Boss Film Studios (1992–1994). Notable projects include I Am Legend, Beowulf, The Iron Giant, and FernGully: The Last Rainforest.

His expertise spans 3D animation, character technical direction, and visual effects. He has contributed to over 20 major films and games, earning accolades such as Academy Award, Annie Award, and BAFTA nominations. His teaching includes roles at Glendale Community College (1997–1998) and early stints as a teaching assistant in Long Beach (1982–1983).

Schindler’s work frequently intersects art and technology, with a focus on character animation and visual storytelling. His industry projects highlight technical innovation in animated features and commercial productions.
