Michael Knight

Dr. Michael Knight is a Lecturer and Director of Bands at the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay, where he oversees the Wind Ensemble, Symphonic Band, and teaches conducting and music education courses. Previously, he held faculty positions at Iowa Wesleyan University, University of Delaware, St. Norbert College, and the University of Missouri, where he directed the 300-member Marching Mizzou. His career spans collegiate and public school teaching in Missouri.

Dr. Knight's research and professional activities focus on wind band performance practices, trombone repertoire development, and music education pedagogy. His work with the University of Delaware Wind Ensemble is documented on Bruce Tychinski's Interplay recording, which features new compositions for trombone and wind band. He has contributed to the Teaching Music through Performance in Band textbook series.
