Dr. Malte Philipp Kaeding is a Lecturer in International Politics at the University of Surrey, Guildford, England. He holds a Ph.D. from the Department of Government and International Studies (GIS) at Hong Kong Baptist University, with earlier studies at the University of Heidelberg, Sun Yat-sen University (Kaohsiung), Cheng Kung University (Tainan), and the University of Hong Kong. His research focuses on identity politics, elections, political marketing, democratization, and youth politics in the Greater China region. He is an Associate Fellow at the European Research Center on Contemporary Taiwan and a member of the Hong Kong Transition Project.
