Lisa Tucker

Lisa Tucker is a Professor in the Department of Apparel, Housing and Resource Management at Virginia Tech's School of Design. She also serves as the Director of the Center for Historic Preservation. Her expertise lies in sustainable and biophilic design, where she teaches upper-level design studios and related courses.

Dr. Tucker holds a PhD in Architectural Studies from the University of Missouri—Columbia, along with degrees in Architecture and Architectural History from the University of Virginia. She is a licensed architect and holds multiple professional credentials, including NCIDQ certification, Virginia Certified Interior Designer, LEED BD+C, and WELL accreditation.

Her research interests include sustainable design, biophilic environments, green building standards, and historic preservation. These areas are reflected in her teaching, professional practice, and leadership roles.
