Challie Schafer Rea

Challie Schafer Rea is a Professor of Interior Design at Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD), Atlanta, where she also serves as a graduate coordinator and department leader. Her work focuses on evidence-based design, inclusive spaces, and accessibility. She holds an M.F.A. in Interior Design from SCAD and a B.D. in Architecture from the University of Florida.

Professionally, she founded Interiors Inc[lusive], a design practice emphasizing accessibility, and previously led workplace strategy at Gensler. She is an NCIDQ Certified professional and holds leadership roles in organizations like the International Interior Design Association (IIDA) and the Interior Design Educators Council (IDEC).

Her recognitions include the SCAD School of Building Arts Dean's Fellowship (2012–2014). She develops educational programs like the NCIDQ exam workshop and presents on topics such as design research and tactile collage techniques.
