Kirk Kimberly

Kirk Kimberly, PhD, is a Lecturer in the Department of Criminal Justice at Eastern Washington University (EWU), effective September 2023. With nearly 30 years of policing experience—including 10 years in patrol and 20 years in investigations—he specializes in police reform, administration, and leadership. His academic background includes a Master’s in Criminal Justice and a Doctorate in Leadership Studies with an emphasis on Police Reform and Administration.

Dr. Kimberly has extensive teaching experience as an adjunct faculty member at Eastern Washington University (1.5 years), Gonzaga University (10.5 years, including a half-time role), and Washburn University (4 years as a Professor). His professional expertise bridges practical law enforcement and academic research, focusing on improving policing practices through leadership and systemic reform.
