Kim Wright

Dr. Kim Wright is a Professor in Clinical Psychology at the University of Exeter and a registered Clinical Psychologist. She co-leads the AccEPT Service, an NHS-funded psychological therapies and research innovation platform, and is an associate member of the NIHR School for Primary Care Research within the Exeter Collaboration for Academic Primary Care (APEX) group. Her research focuses on improving psychosocial interventions for bipolar disorder and depression, particularly exploring mood instability, motivational systems, and lifestyle factors like exercise and nature. She employs diverse methodologies, including randomized controlled trials, qualitative interviews, and evidence synthesis.

• Research Interests: Relationship between mood changes and affective episodes, dysregulation of motivational systems, cognitive-behavioral treatments, positive mood regulation, physical activity in bipolar disorder, and Behavioral Activation therapy for depression.
