Kaydian Reid

Kaydian Reid, DrPH, is an Assistant Professor and Director of Public Health Programs at the University of Saint Joseph (USJ), where she has served since 2019. She holds a Doctor of Public Health from the University at Albany, State University of New York (SUNY), and a Master of Arts in Sociology from St. John’s University. Prior to USJ, she was a visiting assistant professor at Mercy College and adjunct faculty at the College of New Rochelle and Hunter College’s School of Public Health. Reid serves on the UN HIV/AIDS committee and has been recognized with a Robert Wood Johnson Foundation Award.

Research Focus: Her work centers on minority health disparities, adolescent sexual and reproductive health (particularly among Caribbean Black populations), and HIV/AIDS prevention. She emphasizes community-based interventions, health equity, and policy advocacy. Key projects include studying mentorship roles in HIV prevention among Black adolescents and evaluating public health initiatives like the New York State Eat Well Play Hard program.

• Funded by the NIMH R25 training grant through the RHISC program at Hunter College.
• Partnership with community coalitions to address childhood obesity and structural barriers in healthcare access.
