Jonathan S. Berek is the Laurie Kraus Lacob Professor at Stanford University School of Medicine, where he serves as Director of the Stanford Women's Cancer Center and Senior Advisor to the Stanford Cancer Institute. He also holds the position of Executive Director of the Stanford Health Communication Initiative and Director of MedArts Films at the Stanford Center for Health Education.
His academic appointments include Professor in the Department of Obstetrics & Gynecology - Gynecologic Oncology, and membership in both Bio-X and the Stanford Cancer Institute. Previously, he served as Chair of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology from 2005 to 2017.
Dr. Berek's research focuses on gynecologic oncology, particularly ovarian cancer, cervical cancer, uterine cancer, and vulvar cancer. His work encompasses cancer staging, surgical management, chemotherapy approaches, and patient quality of life assessment in recurrent disease.
