Dr. Nadeem R. Abu-Rustum is Chief of the Gynecologic Service and Founder’s Chair at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center (MSK). He is also a Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Weill Cornell Medical College. With over 30 years of experience, he specializes in minimally invasive surgical treatments for gynecologic cancers, including cervical, endometrial, ovarian, and vulvar cancers, as well as fertility-sparing and prophylactic surgeries for high-risk patients.
Dr. Abu-Rustum pioneered radical trachelectomy for fertility preservation in cervical cancer and led the adoption of sentinel lymph node mapping in gynecologic oncology. His clinical research focuses on innovative surgical approaches and tumor localization techniques.
- Awards: Recipient of multiple top doctor recognitions (Castle Connolly 2002–2025), IGCS Excellence in Teaching Award (2021), SGO Innovation Award (2017), and Austria AGO Wertheim Award (2019).
