Jonathan Latta

Jonathan Latta is an Associate Professor of Practice in Percussion and Program Director of Ensembles at the University of the Pacific's School of Music. He serves as a First Year Advisor and maintains active roles in performance, teaching, and conducting. His career spans orchestral, chamber, and jazz performance, with affiliations including the Stockton Symphony, Sacramento Philharmonic, and San Francisco Contemporary Music Players.

Research interests focus on percussion pedagogy, non-Western music, and collaborative performance. He has conducted and performed with Stockton Civic Theatre since 2021, led the Animas Percussion Quartet, and produced recordings like 'From a Deep Blue Sky' with Pacific Wind Bands.

Prior roles include Director of Percussion Studies at Fort Lewis College (2008–2014), PAS University Pedagogy Committee Chair, and membership in the U.S. Air Force Band of the Golden West (performing in high-profile events like the Tournament of Roses Parade).
