Jerry Gatch

Jerry Gatch is Associate Professor of Music and Director of Bands at Newberry College. With 29 years of public school music education experience in South Carolina, his bands at Lexington High School achieved national recognition. He holds a Ph.D. (2017) and D.M.A. (2005) from University of South Carolina, along with M.M. (1987) and B.M.E. (1985) degrees.

His professional activities include adjudicating, conducting clinics, arranging music, and performing as a freelance bassist. Awards include seven Citations of Excellence from the National Band Association and induction into the South Carolina Band Directors Association Hall of Fame in 2013.
