Jeanne Akin

Dr. Jeanne Akin serves as the Mary A. White Professor of Education at Oklahoma Baptist University (OBU), located in Shawnee, Oklahoma. She holds a B.S. from Southern Nazarene University, an M.Ed. from the University of Central Oklahoma, and an Ed.D. from Oklahoma State University. Her professional focus centers on advancing constructivist pedagogical approaches, standards-based education frameworks, and culturally responsive teaching methodologies.

Dr. Akin’s research emphasizes innovative educational practices such as project-based science instruction, diversity awareness training for educators, and the integration of field experiences into teacher preparation programs. She has presented widely on topics including administrative evaluation systems and international educational collaborations, notably delivering seminars at the Moscow Economic School in Russia.

Her work with the National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education (NCATE) demonstrates her commitment to institutional quality assurance and teacher certification standards. She currently serves in Stavros Hall and can be reached at jeanne.akin@okbu.edu.
