Javan Shields

Javan Shields is an Assistant Teaching Professor and Assistant Director of Bands at Iowa State University (ISU). He conducts the Concert Band and Campus Band, oversees aspects of the Athletic Band program (including football, basketball, and soccer/wrestling bands), and directs the State Storm athletic ensemble. His roles include teaching, ensemble direction, and drill composition for marching bands.

Education: MM in Wind Conducting from The University of Akron (2018), BME in Music Education from Indiana Wesleyan University (2012). Professional memberships include the National Band Association, College Band Directors National Association, and Ohio Music Education Association.
