Casey Speed

Casey Speed serves as a Principal Lecturer in the Department of Music at the University of New Hampshire, where she directs the Wildcat Marching Band, UNH Symphonic Band, and Beast of the East Pep Band while teaching undergraduate courses in conducting and music education. She also coordinates the University of New Hampshire Summer Youth Music School (SYMS) and advises student chapters of Kappa Kappa Psi and NAfME.

Her professional focus centers on instrumental music education with specialization in athletic band programs, marching band pedagogy, and youth music development. Speed holds leadership positions in multiple professional organizations including the College Band Directors' National Association (CBDNA Athletic Bands Committee), National Band Association (New Hampshire State Chair), and New Hampshire Music Educators' Association (Board Director and Council for Band Education representative). Her committee work spans departmental scholarship initiatives and long-range planning at UNH.
