Janet Ying is an Associate Professor of String Chamber Music at the Eastman School of Music, University of Rochester. She is a founding member of the renowned Ying Quartet, established in 1992. Her career combines artistic excellence with innovative community engagement, exemplified by her residency in Jesup, Iowa, where she integrated concert music into everyday community life. She holds the Naumburg Chamber Music Award (1993) and a Grammy Award-winning collaboration with the Turtle Island String Quartet.
