Dr Jacinth Tan is an Assistant Professor of Psychology at Singapore Management University's School of Social Sciences. She holds a PhD in Social-Personality Psychology from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and completed postdoctoral training in social psychophysiology at UC San Francisco.
Her research examines how socioeconomic backgrounds shape cognition, emotion, and social relationships, using experimental, longitudinal, and psychophysiological methods. Key interests include:
- Social class influences on psychological processes
- Health disparities linked to socioeconomic factors
- Cross-context variations in inequality experiences
