Howard Chiang is an Associate Professor in the Department of History at the University of California, Davis, since 2017. His research focuses on modern China and Sinophone cultural studies, with emphases on science, medicine, gender, and sexuality. He is Editor-in-Chief of the Global Encyclopedia of LGBTQ History and a leading scholar in transgender and Sinophone studies.
