Guennadi Mouzyka is an Artist Faculty in Double Bass at the Yong Siew Toh Conservatory of Music, National University of Singapore. He serves as the Principal Bassist of the Singapore Symphony Orchestra and is renowned for his solo and chamber music performances. His career spans over four decades, with notable affiliations including the Moscow Chamber Orchestra and collaborations with prestigious ensembles like Yo-Yo Ma’s Silk Road Ensemble.
Education:
- Graduated with Honours from the Tchaikovsky Moscow State Conservatory (1982)

Guennadi specializes in the double bass repertoire from Baroque to contemporary eras. He has premiered works such as Anne LeBaron’s “Inner Voice” and Tan Chan Boon’s “Natural” (dedicated to him), and performed in global premieres like Andres Martin’s “Anna’s Promise” (2016/2017). His chamber collaborations include the Berlin Philharmonic’s Orchestra Academy and artists like Alina Ibragimova and Nobuko Imai.
Teaching & Mentorship:
As a faculty member, he conducts masterclasses globally (Europe, Asia, US) and has mentored students in prominent orchestral and academic roles worldwide. His teaching emphasizes both performance excellence and artistic innovation.
