Evan L. Zucker

Evan L. Zucker is a Professor of Psychology at Loyola University New Orleans, specializing in Behavioral Neuroscience, Health Psychology, and Primatology. He has been actively teaching and conducting research since joining the faculty in 1984.

• Education: Ph.D. in Biopsychology (Emory University, 1983), M.A. in Experimental Psychology (Emory University, 1980), B.S. in Psychology (University of Maryland, 1974)

His research, encapsulated in the acronym SHEEP (Social, Health, Environmental, and Evolutionary Psychology), focuses on nonhuman primate behavior, matrilineal rank impacts on reproduction, and ecological health studies of wild howler monkeys. He has published approximately 50 articles and book chapters.

Recent publications explore comparative psychology pedagogy, primate conservation in zoos, and hormonal/endocrinological analyses of howler monkeys. His work spans laboratory, zoo, and field settings across multiple primate species.
