Allison Edgren

Allison Edgren is an Assistant Professor in the Department of History at Loyola University New Orleans. Her scholarly work bridges religious history and social history in the Middle Ages, with a focus on how societal values were reflected in the treatment of marginalized groups.

• Education: Ph.D. in History from the University of Notre Dame; Master of Liberal Arts in Medieval Studies from the University of Pennsylvania

Dr. Edgren's current research examines shifts in begging practices and social perceptions in 14th-15th century southern German towns. She teaches courses such as The Historian's Craft and Medicine in the Medieval West.
