Erica R. Shea

Erica R. Shea is a Lecturer in General Education at Montana State University Billings' City College (MSUB CC). Since 2004, she has played a pivotal role in international student education, academic advising, and literacy programs across both City College and the university campus.

• Full-time reading instructor since 2019 under Title 3 grant
• Academic Support Center and Office of International Studies member
• Volunteer for Billings School District 2 and Education Foundation's Reading Rocks program

Her research interests focus on adapting college reading strategies for international students, improving academic retention, and advancing literacy through community initiatives. Shea's work bridges classroom instruction with public outreach, emphasizing equitable access to educational resources.

She received the Promoting International Student Success award for her exceptional contributions to international student support. Her volunteer efforts include elementary school literacy programs and free summer reading initiatives in urban parks.
