Eric Haas, J.D., Ph.D., is a Professor of Educational Leadership and Director of the Doctorate in Educational Leadership for Social Justice Program at California State University, East Bay. He holds degrees from the University of Notre Dame (B.S. in Electrical Engineering), The Catholic University of America (J.D.), and Arizona State University (MEd and Ph.D.).
With nearly 30 years in education, Haas has served as a teacher, principal, researcher at WestEd, and faculty member at six universities. His research focuses on legal rights of English learners, school reform, and policy change influenced by unconscious mental models. Notable projects include leading evaluations for the IES WRITE program and Lindsay USD’s Race to the Top grant.
