Daniel Thomas Libertz

Daniel Thomas Libertz is an Assistant Professor of English at Baruch College, City University of New York, within the Weissman School of Arts and Sciences. His academic journey includes a Ph.D. in Critical and Cultural Studies (English) from the University of Pittsburgh, an M.A. in English from SUNY New Paltz, and a B.A. in English and Secondary Education from The College of New Jersey.

Libertz's research focuses on the intersection of quantitative writing, statistical rhetoric, and social justice. He explores how numbers shape public discourse, particularly in activist contexts, and develops pedagogical frameworks for ethical data use in writing instruction.

His recent scholarship examines the material-symbolic power of statistics in climate change and social justice advocacy. Articles address multimodal composition, data feminism, and labor-based grading contracts, reflecting his commitment to innovative and equitable writing pedagogy.
