Christopher Terry

Christopher Terry is an Associate Professor and Cowles Fellow of Journalism, Law and Policy at the University of Minnesota's Hubbard School of Journalism and Mass Communication. He holds a Ph.D. from UW-Madison and has 15 years of commercial radio experience.

His research focuses on media regulation, internet policy, and political communication. Current work examines broadband access disparities and regulatory frameworks for digital platforms.

Terry's publications analyze evolving legal standards for digital expression, media ownership rules, and political advertising regulations. His scholarship combines legal analysis with policy recommendations for media governance.

Awards include:

• International Communication Association Top Paper Award

He served on the FCC's Communication Equity Diversity Council and leads research on tribal broadband access. Terry has presented to multiple government agencies and conducted over 100 media interviews on media law topics.
