Canan Semel

Canan Semel is a Lecturer in Pop Singing at the University of Music Würzburg, where she has been teaching since 2009. She is also a member of the Expert Committee for Popular Music at the Bavarian Association of Musicians, responsible for the certification of pop singing teachers.

Her professional interests focus on Pop Singing, Vocal Performance, and Music Education. With extensive experience as a professional singer, she brings practical industry knowledge to her academic role, having performed with groups like Eurocats and various bands across Europe. She has achieved notable success with her students, with 13 winning national prizes at the Jugend Musiziert competition in the pop singing category, including three first-place finishes.

Canan has a distinguished performance career as a professional singer, having been a long-time member of the vocal quartet Eurocats. She has released recordings under the name Canan Brown, made numerous TV appearances, and works as a studio singer for backing vocals and advertising jingles.
