Benjamin Huffman

Captain Benjamin Huffman serves as a Course Instructor at the Air Force Institute of Technology's School of Systems and Logistics (AFIT/LSM) in Wright-Patterson AFB, OH, a position he has held since June 2025. He provides instruction on data analytical methods and tools to all USAF/USSF enlisted personnel, officers, and civilians, with expertise spanning from introductory to advanced levels.

His educational background includes a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Cedarville University (2016) and a Master's Degree in Operations Research from the Air Force Institute of Technology (2021), followed by Squadron Officer School (2022). Captain Huffman brings extensive operational experience to his teaching role, having served in four different squadrons and three wings throughout his career.

Captain Huffman specializes in data analytics instruction within the Data Science/Analytics career field at AFIT/LS. His teaching encompasses foundational through advanced levels of professional continuing education, including workshops for Citizen Data Analysts, Professional Data Analysts, Data Scientists, and Data Architects/Engineers. His instruction leverages his background in operations research and aircraft fleet management.

As an aircraft maintenance officer with experience on the F-22 and F-15E platforms, Captain Huffman previously served as Director of Operations for the 94th Fighter Generation Squadron and Officer-in-Charge of the 1st Maintenance Group at Langley Air Force Base, Virginia. In his most recent assignment prior to teaching, he served as Executive Officer for the 1st Fighter Wing, enabling leadership by engaging with higher headquarters and mission partners across over 2,100 personnel.
