Kaitlin Berner

Capt Kaitlin Berner serves as an Instructor of Acquisition Management at the Air Force Institute of Technology's School of Systems & Logistics, located at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, Ohio. She provides initial skills education for scientists, engineers, program managers, and select civilians supporting AFMC, AFSFC, and USSF members, delivering instruction on the entire DoD acquisition system life cycle to approximately 600 students annually.

Capt Berner's expertise spans Acquisition Management, DoD Acquisition System, Program Management, Operations and Sustainment, and Test Support. Her instruction focuses on developing capabilities across the entire acquisition lifecycle, preparing military and civilian personnel for effective program execution within the Department of Defense framework. She also provides guidance and research support to senior officials within the DoD, Secretary of the Air Force, and AFMC Headquarters.

Throughout her career, Capt Berner has held significant acquisition positions including program manager within the Business Enterprise Systems Directorate, executive officer to the Acquisition Excellence and Program Execution Directorate, and Chief Portfolio Manager with the 586 Flight Test Squadron at Holloman AFB, where she led program management for over fifty test programs. Her operational experience includes deployment as a PERSCO team member supporting Operation Enduring Freedom and the PACAF Cobra Gold exercise.
