Dr. Angela Murillo is an Assistant Professor at Indiana University's Luddy School of Informatics, Computing, and Engineering, where she also serves as Director of the Data Science undergraduate program. She holds a Ph.D. in Information and Library Science from UNC Chapel Hill and brings industry experience from biotechnology company Novozymes.
Her research focuses on data-related education, scientific data management, and data cyberinfrastructure. She teaches courses including Foundations of Data Studies, Data Organization and Representation, and Data Policy and Governance.
Dr. Murillo received the Indiana University Trustees' Teaching Award in 2022 for her educational leadership in developing the Data Science program.
