İlhami GÖK is a full-time Professor at Kafkas University's Faculty of Engineering and Architecture, Department of Bioengineering. His academic progression includes roles as Assistant Professor (2010-2018), Associate Professor (2018-2023), and Professor (2023-present). He holds administrative positions including Faculty Board membership and past Department Chair roles.
Educational background includes a PhD in Biology from Karadeniz Technical University (2002-2004), MSc in Medical Biology from the same institution (1988-1991), and a BA in Slavic Languages from Kafkas University (2018-2023).
Research focuses on medical genetics and disease mechanisms, with emphasis on:
- Genetic polymorphisms in hypertension, cancer, and inflammatory disorders
- DNA repair gene variants (RAD51, XRCC2/3) and cancer susceptibility
- Cytokine gene profiles in autoimmune/rheumatic diseases
- Population-specific genetic epidemiology in Turkish cohorts
