Émilie Pigeon is a Part-Time Professor of History at Our Lady Seat of Wisdom College and holds an affiliation with the Institute of Indigenous Research and Studies. She also served as a Postdoctoral Fellow at the University of Ottawa's History Department (2019–2020) and Lab Coordinator at the Institute of Canadian and Aboriginal Studies (2017–2022). Her research focuses on Métis history, Indigenous rights, and settler colonialism in North America.

Her work examines Métis women’s agency in 19th-century border regions, blending historical geography and social dynamics. She has conducted fieldwork in Turtle Mountain (ND), Winnipeg (MB), and other sites. Current teaching includes a course on post-1945 U.S. history.
Research interests include Indigenous knowledge systems, historical GIS, and the intersection of religion and space in colonial contexts. She collaborates with the Métis Family and Community Research Lab.
