Chris Adams is a Senior Lecturer and Professional Practice Coordinator in the School of Nursing & Midwifery at the University of Notre Dame Australia, Fremantle Campus. With a clinical nursing career since 1993, she maintains active practice in the Post Anaesthetic Care Unit at Fiona Stanley Hospital and brings extensive experience from diverse specialties including hyperbaric nursing, sexual and reproductive health, urology, ENT, plastics, emergency, and gender reassignment care, including roles in London. Research interests center on nursing education, interprofessional learning, work-integrated learning (WIL), and the development of professional practice competencies. Her Master of Nursing (Research) employed a mixed-methods design to assess student readiness and curriculum effectiveness. She collaborates with colleagues across the School of Medicine and School of Physiotherapy to enhance interprofessional understanding and teamwork through on-campus workshops. Her recent publications and conference presentations highlight a consistent focus on clinical placement effectiveness , student preparedness , and innovations in WIL , including evaluations of global health immersions in Tanzania and national webinar contributions on mental health in nursing placements. Scientific awards and recognition: Spirit of Rommie Award for Exemplary Achievement and Performance (2022) Nominee, Perioperative Nurse of the Year (2012) Chris is actively involved in teaching and advising , leading third-year professional practice courses, clinical facilitator education, preceptorship training, and tutoring. She has secured engagement through grants and institutional support for interprofessional initiatives and global health programs. Her work is supported by strong affiliations with professional bodies including ACEN, ANF, ACORN, ANZAHPE, and ACN. Labs and teams: She collaborates with interprofessional research teams involving Medicine, Nursing, and Physiotherapy, and contributes to the Clinical Placements Team and WA Chapter of ACEN. She co-presented workshops on hot topics in WIL with multidisciplinary colleagues from various universities.
