A prominent scholar in 17th-century intellectual history, he has been with the Institute since 1990, leading the department from 2012-2021 before assuming his current deputy role. As editor-in-chief of Acta Comeniana since 2008 and member of the editorial board for the DJAK edition (Dílo Jana Amose Komenského), he has significantly shaped Comenius scholarship. His public engagement includes innovative projects like the 24-hour online reading of Comenius's works across five continents, the 'Comenius online' webinar series, and the exhibition 'J.A.K.: Komenský v kulturách vzpomínání' (2020), for which he received the 2021 Award for Popularization from the Institute of Philosophy.
