Jasber Singh is an Assistant Professor at Coventry University’s Centre for Agroecology, Water and Resilience. His work bridges participatory action research with social and environmental justice, focusing on anti-racism, migrant rights, and food sovereignty. Before academia, he worked in NGOs addressing racism and advocating for marginalized communities in the UK and India. He co-founded a refugee youth group and contributed to policy reforms via India’s Supreme Court. Currently, he serves as a trustee for Race on the Agenda (anti-racism NGO) and a participatory research center for migrant youth. Research Interests : Creative participatory methods (e.g., theater, photography), decolonial frameworks, environmental justice, and the intersection of migration policies with food poverty. He emphasizes grassroots collaboration to challenge systemic oppression and ecological degradation. Grants & Projects : Co-investigator on the 2021–2022 project Understanding motivations, barriers and enablers for participation in community food activities . Active in community-based initiatives like People’s Food Monitoring and Connecting Communities workshops. Labs/Teams : Part of the Centre for Agroecology, Water and Resilience, collaborating on transformative food systems and environmental justice.
