Professor Elizabeth Robinson, Director of LSE's Grantham Research Institute on Climate Change and the Environment, currently serves as Acting Dean of LSE’s Global School of Sustainability during her secondment. As an environmental economist, her work bridges climate change, health, and food security, with particular focus on resource-dependent communities and worker rights.

Her research interests span:
- Design of environmental policy instruments
- Climate change impacts on health and nutrition
- Integrating adaptation and mitigation strategies
- Climate economic modeling
Recent publications examine mangrove conservation in Tobago, labour force resilience in the UK, and child health impacts from climate shocks. Her Lancet Countdown contributions track global climate-health indicators and analyze regional vulnerabilities in Europe, Latin America, and Small Island Developing States.
Awards and policy roles include:
- Specialist Advisor to UK House of Lords Committee (2019-2020)
- Coordinating Lead Author for IAASTD Sub-Saharan Africa (2004-2009)
- 5-year membership on UK Defra Economic Advisory Panel
She leads the Climate Change Committee’s CCRA4 Economics Advisory Group and has advised on Bangladesh climate adaptation, UK food security, and global health policy.
