Dr. Bingsong Wang is a Lecturer (Assistant Professor) in Economics at the University of Sheffield, joining in September 2021. Previously, he taught at the University of Warwick from 2016 to 2021. He holds a PhD in Economics from the University of Bath (2016). His research focuses on Macro-Labour, Business Cycles, Inequality, and Macro-Finance, with a strong emphasis on labor market dynamics, wage rigidity, and unemployment fluctuations. His notable contributions include studies on real wage rigidity, search frictions, and the interplay between economic policies and labor markets. His work has been published in journals such as the Journal of Money, Credit and Banking and the Review of Economic Dynamics . Dr. Wang’s research often bridges theoretical models with empirical observations, addressing puzzles like unemployment volatility and the role of credible wage bargaining in macroeconomic stability. Teaching responsibilities include the modules ECN21006 (Macroeconomic Policy) and ECN6660 (Monetary Economics at the MSc level).
